What will you do in this job?

The Alaska Collection Sales Specialist is responsible for managing incoming inquiries and maintaining sales relationships with a client base for group business including meetings, convention, incentive and weddings.  The Sales Specialist works with our Affiliate partners to drive sales for our attraction products and will support our Sales team to achieve established sales goals.

General Responsibilities:

  • Support the Sales Managers in maintaining relationships and business with existing client base while growing existing accounts in the regional market. Target market is including but not limited to conference/meetings, associations, incentive groups, weddings, and affiliate partners.
  • Manage group inbox and respond to incoming leads by phone and/or email
  • Maintain sales database in Delphi and Salesforce.
  • Work closely with Pursuit operations teams and with Alaska tourism organizations
  • Drive seasonal sales for our attractions through sales calls, promotions, incentive programs and marketing support
  • Negotiate and send TAC business proposals and/or contracts
  • Contract new and existing affiliate partners annually, prior to season start
  • Conduct presentations, site tours, and lead familiarization groups as needed
  • Perform other duties as are appropriate and as assigned

Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of the tourism business in Alaska, including, state government, industry organizations and large private industry influences
  • Knowledge of Salesforce or Delphi.fdc (CRM) a strong asset
  • Excellent oral, written and presentation skills to promote effective internal and external communication between the sites, its employees, the media and the general public.
  • Consistent outstanding guest service skills
  • Strong understanding of Microsoft Office
  • Excellent decision making, problem solving and time management skills
  • Team player with willingness to be adaptable, flexible and solution-focused

What skills and experience do you need for this job?

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Public Relations or equivalent experience in another sales-related field.
  • Minimum one year of experience in management or sales, tourism marketing, advertising, or public relations; or relevant work experience
  • Experience in the Alaska tourism industry preferred.
  • Proximity to and ability to work in either our Anchorage or Seward office.
