What will you do in this job?

Oversees and manages the daily operations of the dining and bar services, adhering to The Alaska Collection (TAC) standards. Ensures profitability while maintaining high standards of product and service for optimum guest satisfaction. Manages the dining room and bar employees to ensure excellent customer service and to enhance the dining experience for all guests while following the establishment’s guidelines. Maintain an enjoyable environment for guests. Account for food and beverages served, and monies collected. 


This is an Extended Seasonal Full Time benifited role (10 month position) reporting to the General Manager. This role is responsible for the hiring, training, direction and management of front of house restaurant staff.


  • Supervise the day-to-day activities of dining room and bar employees; manage and supervise employees including goal setting, training, performance evaluations and reviews
  • Investigate and resolve complaints regarding food quality, service, or accommodations
  • Work with Food and Beverage Manager/Event Coordinator in monitoring budgets and payroll records, and review financial transactions to ensure that expenditures are authorized and budgeted
  • Ensure that the food and product served in the dining room is of consistently high quality and is delivered to the guests in a timely manner
  • Maintain quality standards for environment, service and safety according to the guidelines of the Lodge

What skills and experience do you need for this job?

  • Knowledge of food and beverage ordering, inventory procedures and cost control practices
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and professional demeanor; ability to work effectively and cooperatively with all levels of management and staff, affiliated company employees and outside business associates
  • Proficiency in the use of computers, food and beverage software, data-bases and spreadsheet programs. Strong Microsoft Word and Excel skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis
  • High school diploma, or equivalent
  • 6 months supervisory experience
  • 5 years experience in hotel and/or restaurant management or a related field; or any combination of management, education and experience that provides the necessary skills, knowledge and abilities
  • Must be 21 years of age to serve alcohol
